Roland Park Place’s Guide to Spring in Baltimore

After a cold and dark winter, Roland Park Place residents are ready to enjoy all that spring brings to Baltimore. We want to share our most beloved events that happen every spring in the city.

The oldest free festival in Baltimore is the Flower Mart at Mount Vernon Place. For 112 years, flower vendors have taken over the Washington Monument to help bring spring into your homes. The iconic Baltimore lemon stick is the signature treat that you must try. Local businesses will also be featured from artists to restaurants. This event happens on the last weekend of April, which falls on April 29th and April 30th this year.

Let’s Go O’s! An Oriole’s game is a must for everyone! Camden Yards is one of (if not the) best baseball stadiums in the US. There is not a bad seat in the house and the fans make coming to a game ten times more fun than watching it alone at home. If residents aren’t able to go to a game, our Pub plays all the Oriole baseball games, home and away.

For film lovers, the annual Maryland Film Festival is held a few neighborhoods down from Roland Park Place at the SNF Parkway Theatre. This historic movie theatre brings international and local films for those who love art films. Some of the exciting features will be a collection of short films by Baltimore artists and John Water’s pick of an underrated film that deserves our attention.

Our neighborhood art museum has been getting international attention for their newest exhibit. The Baltimore Museum of Art’s gallery guards have curated the exhibit, Guarding the Art, where the guards pick pieces and provide their commentary and analysis of them. Who better to guide us into art than the members of our community who protect them. Unpredictable spring weather means chilly and rainy days that can only be remedied by visiting the BMA.
