Our Wellness Wednesday This Week Puts the Spotlight on Beets
The vibrant red veggie is loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and heart-healthy nutrients. Beets help your body produce nitric oxide, a compound that supports healthy blood flow, boosts stamina, and enhances circulation. Eating red veggies like beets may also reduce inflammation and support overall wellness.
Residents who attended this week’s “Treats on the Terrace” event were rewarded with Roasted Beet Salad, Egyptian Beet Dip, Heart-Beet Shots, and Rock the Beet Juice.
Beyond the obvious benefits of learning about and sampling healthy snacks, residents enjoyed the health benefits of a beautiful day on the terrace with perfect weather and the company of family and friends. Roland Park Place is full of opportunities to maintain good health and enjoy yourself, but if you are using the afternoon healthy snack as an excuse to eat ice cream later on, that’s okay too!
