Healthcare services at Roland Park Place are comprehensive, state-of-the art, and compassionately administered.
Health Care Center
Exceptional ‘round the clock caregiving.
The Eleanor F. Daly Health Care Center at Roland Park Place provides both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation stays for residents. This wellness offering is a component of Roland Park Place’s “continuing care” services. Because services like physical therapy or skilled nursing in the Health Care Center are available when needed, the continuum of care offers Residents and their family members peace of mind knowing that potential needs have already been well planned for. Additionally, for single Residents, any stay in the Health Care Center – temporary or long-term – is included in their monthly service fee. This means there is no extra cost for this continuum of care.
The Health Care Center offers exceptional care to all in addition to:
A private bedroom suite for every Resident regardless of physical or cognitive ability.
A household environment including living space, private meeting room, and a communal dining area.
A caring team of highly-trained nursing staff including Geriatric Nurse Practitioners, RNs, LPNs, Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistants, and Certified Medication Aides.
A licensed nurse is onsite 24 hours a day, seven days-a-week.
A scheduled nurse practitioner is onsite five days-a-week.
A ratio of care giving staff to residents of 1:1.6.
Other specialty staff including a full-time chaplain and dedicated social worker
A team of activities professionals who facilitate unlimited access to a full range of activities throughout the community including lectures, concerts and more.
Roland Park Place participates in the Medicare program for all eligible Residents. Where we get to take care of you.
Through a partnership with Genesis Healthcare, Roland Park Place offers onsite physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and aquatic therapy. These services are offered in the Health Care Center to current Residents who may need to regain their strength after surgery or hospitalization. Physical therapy can teach recuperating Residents how to prevent or manage their conditions so they can regain their independence long-term. Outpatient therapy is also available for Residents who do not require a stay in the Health Care Center.
Around-the-clock physicians, nurses, therapists and other geriatric nursing specialists are available onsite to assist transitioning Residents from hospitalization back into Independent Living.
Ambulatory Care Center
World-class primary care, right on campus.
With everything else on campus, we thought primary care should be, too. Operating much like an independent outpatient clinic, the Esther Jacoby Ambulatory Care Center offers Residents convenience in medical care and services coupled with world-class physicians and staff.
Roland Park Place Residents can maintain relationships with their current doctor(s) or utilize the expertise of the physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff of the Ambulatory Care Center. Because of the convenient location and ease of access to care whenever needed, many Residents opt to select Roland Park Place doctors for their primary care. Visiting specialists such as a dermatologist, audiologist and podiatrist eliminate the need for Residents to spend time traveling to and from doctor appointments.
If a Resident does have a need to visit a doctor outside of Roland Park Place, transportation is included in the monthly service fee for all medical appointments within a 10-mile radius.
The best personal assistant you’ve ever had.
Designed with everyday Resident needs in mind, our Personal Assistance Program, or PAL, is available for those who might need a little additional help with daily activities of everyday living. PAL offers extra services to Residents on an a la carte basis, allowing Residents to pick and choose the services they need under a modest, customized fee structure.
PAL staff includes Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistants or Registered Nurses depending on the level of service required; drivers; and housekeepers who can provide an extra pair of hands and a friendly smile while assisting with personal care and/or housekeeping tasks. This extra help enables Residents to remain in their apartment longer, and retain the independent lifestyle they are accustomed to.
Services include, but are not limited to:
Transportation (other than medical appointments)
Laundry and ironing
Polishing silver or brass
Helping with special set-ups for social gatherings in the apartment
Cleaning out the refrigerator
Medical appointment companion and note-taker
Assistance with personal care
Light meal preparation
Additionally, since the PAL program is designed to assist Residents based on their personal needs, the PAL team will customize a service plan to suit any situation. With personal service like this, people wonder why they didn’t use it sooner.
Residential Care and Memory Care
Service-rich support without intensive intervention.
Residential Care Assisted Living
Designed to provide an optimal level of service and support in an environment that promotes safe independence, Roland Park Place offers Residential Care assisted living and Memory Care assisted living.
Residential Care assisted living is geared towards Residents with temporary or permanent physical or cognitive challenges but who are still comfortable with an autonomous lifestyle. Residential Care can offer just enough support and safety without too much intervention.
Another component of the Roland Park Place continuum of care, Residential Care offers a transition between Independent Living and skilled nursing provided in the Health Care Center. Residents have access to all of the services and amenities of the Roland Park Place community as well as several other specific support services, all at no additional cost.
Residential Care provides Residents with support through:
Providing three meals each day
Daily trash removal
Weekly housekeeping service
Personalized health care management (bathing, medication management)
Special activity and wellness programs
For adults experiencing memory loss, there is no singular solution.
There are many and varied ways to enrich the lives and ease the anxieties of people whose most cherished asset — the memories of a lifetime — is in decline.
Our approach at Roland Park Place is holistic and person-centric with an emphasis on one-to-one interaction. Caregivers are encouraged and empowered to get to know and understand the character and life experience of each Resident and their family, and to craft a curriculum to suit the interests and preferences of the individual.
Under the close administration of Special Projects Director Kathryn Miller, LCSW-C, the Roland Park Place Memory Care staff is passionately devoted to the Residents in our care, and to continuing our education and exposure to new treatments, therapies and programs in this rapidly advancing field of healthcare.
